Leeds, Richard Jackson, 1885. Large folio (c.18 x 13 inches). Quarter gilt-titled green morocco over cloth boards with gilt titles and decoration to front cover. The 1885 reprint of the 1814 edition. In a limited edition of 600 copies this being No. 130. t.e.g. Coloured frontispiece and 40 further coloured plates as called for, all behind tissue guards and the text in both English and French. The plates are all in good, clean condition and range from horse-dealers to leach-finders, fishermen to lowkers, sea bathers, farmers and soldiers returned from The Peninsula and Waterloo. The covers a little marked. Some spotting, especialy to preliminaries, and lightly to text. Light off-setting from plates. All in all this is a good and affordable copy of this important work. pp. 106, plus plates (XLI). Item #26716
