London, Printed by T. Bensley for Vernor and Hood, E. Harding and J. Wright, 1800. Small 8vo (c.6½ x 4 inches). Full tree calf with contrasting gilt-lettered labels. Gilt decoration to spines and edges. Each play has a separate titlepage stating 'Harding's Edition' and are dated 1798-99, although King Lear in Vol. XI is dated 1807, so presumably this set is later than stated on the main titles. With 117 plates after Stothard, Gardiner, Satchill, Hopwood, Thurston, Singleton, Rivers and Porter. Hinges to Vol.I cracked, especially the rear. Vol.II hinge lightly cracked. Light wear to spines of Vols.I-III. Vol.XII has a small piece missing from spine below the label. Some spotting to Vol.VI. Generally a good and attractive set. Item #25801
